The Grand Adventure Continues……….

As everyone knows, 2020 was a very strange year indeed. We quit doing the blog as it seemed we had nothing new to add. We stayed in various campgrounds, but essentially isolated ourselves in our RV or car. Most everything was closed so our days consisted of hanging out and going for car rides (other than my visit to the Moab Emergency Room). We’re hoping 2021 will be very different.

We returned back to the Ranch (the RV resort we stay in while in California) at the end of October, 2020. Our plans were to do the East Coast this year. Our plan was to leave the end of January, hit New Orleans before Mardi gras started, then start our trip in Florida for winter, work our way up to the north east for fall, then back to California for winter. But as usual, our plans changed. I was still in the middle of a bunch of medical tests, Covid seem to be rampant on the east coast, so we went to Plan B. We were going to head into Arizona in February, then slowly work our way up to Montana. We had put our rig into the shop for some repairs, and we didn’t even get it back until mid February. It took us a while to put it all back together, so now it was time for Plan C.

At first we were going to leave March 10 just after Marsha got her second vaccine. Then we figured it would be good to have a few days in case of any reaction to the vaccine (she did have a headache for a couple of days). Then I wanted to see my Dad and brother one more time, so we delayed again. Finally at 1630 (4:30 PM) we had our lots cleaned well enough that we took off. Being so late we only made it to Rancho Cucamonga to the Bass Pro Shop for a free night of dry camping. But at least we had left.

We were actually having a great time being back in California. The weather has been fantastic, we were starting to be able to see some family and friends, and our sense of community was very enjoyable. So it was bittersweet that we talked about leaving again. However, we had made reservations so decided to take off.
