It was only a few hours from Heber City to Thayne, Wy (A city in Star Valley). Many friends from Rancho California RV Resort bought another RV lot here to get out of the summer heat in So. California. We stayed not at Star Valley RV Resort, but a place we have stayed before – Wolf Den Log Cabins and RV Park. It’s a small place right on the highway, level sites and an easy stop. The plan was to spend two nights here, and use the day of rest to drive up to Jackson (or Jackson Hole as most know it), but when push came to shove none of us felt like driving the 45 minutes to spend Father’s Day in an expensive and crowded city.

We got some rain showers in the afternoon, but mostly just enjoyed hanging out and talking. We did drive up some farm roads and enjoyed to peace and quiet, pastures and river flowing through.

Our rule of 2-2-2 seems to be working out, but we already see a need to slow it down. The rule we learned was off the road by 2, spend at least 2 nights in each location, and no more that 200 miles driving per day. We could spend at least a week in each place.
One of the things we like about RVing is the random meet ups we encounter. Coming out of the laundry mat we ran into another camper and he just asked us some questions about the area. Later he came by with his dog, sat down and joined in our conversation. Found out he was an author of three books (mysteries). After talking to him I bought his books and started one that night. So far I am finding it very enjoyable.

After two days of rest, we were ready to really start our trip visiting the National Parks!
