We were blessed to have more friends show up – Mike and Aundrea Foskett flew up to spend a week up here. They are the type of people you meet and feel like you’ve been friends forever. Both Aundrea and Mike are involved in Ministry with the Military, and lead very busy lives. We hope they were able to relax and enjoy beautiful Montana while they visited.

I know sitting in the back seat can be boring, but there were places we wanted them to see. Driving out to the River and then some back roads turned out ok. At least they didn’t try and jump out of the car.

Mike is a Marine, so I figured he’d be a meat eater. We found a butcher shop here that has the best meats and seafoods. We decided to grill up some steaks and chicken – and I have to say,I think they came out decent. We recently got a Traeger Pellet Grill, and I have been having fun learning to smoke and grill with it.

We tried to go to Glacier National Park. Since the Going to The Sun Road was still closed with snow, I was hoping we could sneak in. Not going to happen. Their new ticket system was in full force, and even though it was not crowded, they would not let us in. But the drive up to there is beautiful, so not a total loss. We got to stop in Bigfork on the way back to Polson.
We also went to Whitefish. Nice shops to cruise (finally found a baseball hat that fits me). Cool older buildings with interesting architecture. A very walkable town.

Polson does a Memorial Day Parade. Montana honors their veterans, and this small town parade was very fun. It only lasted 15 minutes, but we enjoyed it very much. Our thoughts were of those we have lost keeping us free.

Again, the time flew by and it was time to take Mike and Aundrea back to Missoula. There are now direct nonstop flights from Missoula and Kalispell to LA and San Diego – makes getting here pretty easy (hint hint). It sure was great seeing our friends!! We look forward to seeing them again when we return to Calif.
