Our Friends John & Bonnie

We were blessed again by having other friends come and join us. We know John & Bonnie from the Ranch we stay at while in California. They recently sold their lot and are now homeless and looking for that next adventure. We weren’t sure if it would work out, but we both ended up here at the same time. So once again we were forced to show them all our favorite haunts and restaurants (oh how we suffer for our friends). Picture above is at the Shoe, a place right across the street from our campground. Great deck over looking Flathead Lake.

Off road group

John and Bonnie were able to join us and some “neighbors” from where we bought the lot on a 4 wheel drive adventure. Nothing real hard but got to see some great scenery and a ghost town. Stopped in Hamilton, ID for lunch. There was supposed to be a huge Jeep Run there, but some close fires made them close the Run. For us it was nice to get to know some of the people who live in our development. We still haven’t heard back from the builder re cost of building a home, but we are trying to be patient.

John’s a fisherman too (although it has been years since I have drowned any bait), so we found a pontoon boat in marina to rent. Took off with good intentions, fished a bit, but then the wind picked up big time and we limped our way back to the marina. No fish, but even with the choppy ride, I have a great time (not sure about the others). Can’t believe I didn’t get any pictures.

Great Friends and Traveling buddies

We went to a rodeo in Kalispell – got there late due to me needing / wanting to eat before we got there. So our seats were behind a gate that had a sign on it – could only see a piece of the arena. The best was seeing little kids (like 5 or 6). They were riding bucking broncs and bulls like nobodies business. Hanging on (even as they slide to the side of the horse), falling off, then picking up their hats, brushing the dirt off and giving the crowd a wave. Very cool. We did have one issue – John drove his jeep with California plates and someone left a printed sign on the windshield – :Californians and Washingtonians GO HOME, GO HOME, GO HOME. Gee, why do other states hate Californians? Except we know why.

Tough Cowboy

Before we knew it, John and Bonnie took off (a day before we were leaving). But we planned on meeting in a few days at our next stop. So we gathered up our stuff and got ready to continue the adventure.
