We left Yellowstone by 10 AM for the 4 hr drive to Missoula. I am not sure how it can be possible but the countryside just seems to be getting prettier and prettier. We drove through valleys covered in flowering bushes – we are thinking it was fields of rapeseed – from where they make canola oil. Beautiful yellow flowers. We ended up back on Freeway 15 and 90, and although we much prefer two lane country roads, we were glad to speed things along to arrive around 2 PM. BUT we like our 200 mile rule – and at times think maybe 150 is enough.
Missoula was a “take care of things” stop. We didn’t explore the city or surrounding area at all. They had a marathon there and traffic was horrible, so other than necessary stops (Verizon to fix an issue with our jet pack) and minimal shopping, we just hung out at the campground.

The KOA in Missoula was pretty nice. It is an older campground but is now surrounded by the town. They have kept it up well and had many trees to provide shade. We had a patio next to the rig that allowed us to hang out in the evenings – which is still until 10 PM. We are still having a bit of an issue with it being so light out late – messing up with our sleep patterns. It’s been many years I have stayed up to midnight – then of course I am not wanting to get up in the morning.

Good place to stop and get caught up. Had planned on hitting Costco but never quite got the motivation to go. Sitting in the campground, having coffee with our friends and solving the world’s problems was as much as I could get done in these two days.
