Ken and Marsha

May 29, 2020 Polson, MT to Missoula, MT

The time came when we had to leave Polson. We had made reservations at Hebgen Lake so took off in that direction. Missoula is only about a 1.5 hrs drive from Polson, but we thought we’d break the drive up and stay 2 nights in Missoula and 2 nights in Ennis, MT (Where we had friends from the Ranch staying).

We stayed at Jim & Mary’s RV Park in Missoula, a very pretty campground. The owners are avid gardeners growing their own flowers in hot houses. They were planting all over the campground as we arrived. The flowers here are so beautiful. Makes the campground homey.

We spend time restocking and just hanging out. Once when Marsha stepped out of the RV, I went to follow and could not open the door. She was able to open it from her side, but then the lock literally fell apart and we could not close the door without being locked inside. I started calling around to see who had a new lock, but everyone said they’d have to have it shipped in. Ordered it from a mobile repair place that said they could install it Monday morning as soon as it came in. Well that would keep us on our plan of 2 days there and 2 days in Ennis.

Monday morning comes and low and behold, no lock shows up. They were sure it would arrive the next day. So we talked to all the various RV parks involved and everyone was nice enough to cancel the Ennis reservations and Jim & Mary’s had room for us there.

Well Tuesday norming comes and of course no lock arrives. The repair place told us to come in anyway as they knew we have reservations at Hebgen Lake. They ended up taking the lock off another rig they had there and got us going. Cheap China locks seem to be an issue. Need to find another type that uses steel mechanisms rather that plastic.

So around 11 AM we were on the road again to Hebgen Lake. Nice highway drive following a river most of the way. Got there just after 4 so plenty of time to get set up.

All’s good in the hood.
