Every time we are in this area we come “home” to Emery, as it is our official residence. Being full time RVers, we can choose the State we wish to domicile in, and we have chosen South Dakota. And the great thing is that we love it here. Emery is a town of 498 people and we found a farm here that has 6 RV sites. It is a very quiet area, surrounded by fields and cows. The owners, Al & Nancy, are super people and make us feel very welcome.

We spent one day doing all the things we need to do here – see our local medical people, our accountant, and our attorney. Busy day but got it all done.

Close by in Mitchell, there is the world’s only corn palace The entire building is covered with corn and is the local community center, They even had their own pre-Sturgis rally for all the bikers driving west to Sturgis. People are very friendly here.
This area (along with many parts of the country) have had an extremely wet spring, Normally all the fields are covered with either corn or soy beans, but they were unable to plant due to the ground being so wet. There is standing water every where. Most had to take the crop insurance to keep from being financially devastated. It makes for a very green area, but no crops.
We spent 6 nights here. Lovely, relaxing place. We enjoyed just hanging out in the rig organizing and getting ready for our next move. Bill & Debbie joined us here for the weekend as we planned our move into a new area.
