Again, we have been to this area before, but it’s a cool area (OK, hot in August) to see and check out. Plus it breaks up a longer drive. The KOA here is nice – lots of trees and sometimes a river running nearby (dry this time of year). Nice folks.
Driving through the Badlands is remarkable – but I can’t imagine what it was like for the wagon trains. There are some loop roads that make a good driving tour. Many people boondock out here, but in this heat we wanted full hookups for our air conditioner.
We only stayed here three nights – enough time to relax and see the area. Close by things to do include seeing Wall Drug (a city block store with everything) and the Minuteman Missile Silos (now museums). But since we did those before, we decide to pass for now.
So before we knew it was time to head out.
